Carina's Sports Class

Carina is taking a sports class at the Park and Rec Center with other children ages 3-5. Each week she explores a new sport. This week was basketball. Watch the clip to see her b-ball skills!

Not Snow...Hail!

We had quite the hail storm pass over our home. Within a minute our deck was covered with hail. It was the first preview of a winter wonderland...just a lot louder! It wasn't long and the sun shone brightly through the trees...like a promise of hope after a storm.

Go Beavs!

We returned to our college roots in Corvallis, Oregon to watch a Beaver Football game. Chris' college roommates, Jim and Daryle joined him in O..S..U.. warm-ups before the game. We enjoyed a quick walk through the campus seeing the changes and remembering the "good ole days."One of those changes we enjoyed was the Beavers wining the football game! We had a great time back on campus and vising with Daryle and Jim and Yvette.

Not quite the pumpkin patch

We visited Al's garden center in Oregon this last weekend in search of pumpkins. Although not a pumpkin patch, we heard about the great price and couldn't pass it up. So we now have 10 pumpkins on our front porch! The girls are excitedly thinking of all the ways to carve them this Halloween.

Al's also has an indoor forest display of Christmas themed trees. As you walk through the lights and decorations you can't help but smile about the season quickly approaching. Carina picked this Space Odyssey themed tree to have her picture taken with Gigi.

Creative Posting

Well, I suppose there is a fine line between being sneaky and being creative. After playing quietly in her room this afternoon, Carina settled into her bed. As I went in to check on her, I found a picture she had made pasted to her dresser. She had used a glue stick. At first, I viewed the act as suspicious and then it occurred to me that she doesn't know how her other artwork "sticks" to the walls. I usually use tape and post things on the walls...there was no difference in her mind as she used glue and mounted her art on her dresser! Thankfully, it was still wet and it washed right off.

Tea Party

Kendra sent our family invitations to a tea party. She made biscuits with blackberry jam, peanut butter sandwiches and tea with honey, sugar and milk available. She also prepared and poured our tea. What a lovely hostess she is!
