good-bye arizona

 Our last day in Arizona we drove back to Phoenix and had a family fun night at a hotel near the airport.  It was shaded on this side of the hotel and a bit a cool without the sun but not too cold for some swimming!

 Then it was time for a shower, a movie, and some good ol' fashion hotel take-out for dinner!  What a great way to end a family vacation.

a tucson thanksgiving

 We visited Chris' family in Tucson, Arizona for Thanksgiving.  We stayed with his cousin Laura and Michael and their daughter, Samantha.  Living nearby is Chris' Uncle Fred and Aunt Jayne.  Chris' brother flew in from San Jose,CA to join the group along with his parents from Oregon.

A visit to the zoo was in order.

We saw all kinds of animals there!

 We also stopped by a miniature doll house museum!  There were rooms and rooms of miniature doll houses on display behind glass representing all times of history and different cultures.  In the picture below, there was a room filled with Christmas villages.  One was built in the floor!

Kendra helped cook a Thanksgiving dish.

Gigi brought some supplies for the kids to enjoy.

And the guys, generally, stayed out of the kitchen!

We had an astonishing view and ate out doors...
definitely a first for those of us from the Pacific Northwest!

After dinner there was a show...

arizona...here we come

We visited Rebekah's dad in Phoenix, Arizona around Thanksgiving.  It was a record cold November but still more sun than we are used to seeing that time of year (or any time of year for that matter!). 

We enjoyed the SeaLife aquarium
 (even though we were in the desert!)

We also went sight seeing over the city.

Kendra planned to donate her hair while we were there.
